Namib Mills is recruiting an Information Security Analyst (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Ensure that the organization’s proprietary and sensitive information is secure. The successful candidate will work inter-departmentally to identify and correct flaws in the company’s security systems, solutions, and programs while recommending specific measures that can improve the company’s overall security posture
Duties
- Monitor computer networks for security issues
- Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents
- Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
- Work with IT team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
- Develop company-wide best practices for IT security
- Perform penetration testing
- Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management
- Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management
- Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards
- Perform any adhoc tasks as allocated by Supervisor and/or Manager
Requisites
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) and a three (3) year degree in an IT related field
- 5 years' relevant experience in related IT field such as experience in Network Design; Information Security;
- Computer Network Penetration Testing and Techniques; Setting Up, Maintaining and Reporting on Firewalls
- Understanding of firewalls, proxies, antivirus, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) concepts
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact
- A certification in the specific field would be an added advantage (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- Namibian Citizen or Eligible for Namibian citizenship
- Valid driver’s licence
- Able to communicate well in written and spoken English
- Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends
