Digital Financial Services: Accountant (m/f)

Duties

• Implement business processes for product and service portfolio of mobile financial services (CICO, Insurances, Loans, Savings and e-money)
• Produce cost and pricing calculations for Management consideration
• Provide projects support to guide business on implementation of digital service revenue streams
• Implement product delivery on project scoping and partner engagement roll-out plans
• Provide guidance, best practice advice and recommendations pertaining to Mobile Financial Services to ensure new revenue streams are optimized
• Managing payments, banking, remittances, insurance and collection on mobile financial channel platforms
• Perform Treasury Management to ensure a balance between funding and returns in mobile money banking operations
• Ensure Namibian Tax legislation Compliance by timely submissions and reporting to Management and Inland Revenue Authorities
• Operating on ERP Financial System to ensure effective accounting and financial information is available
• Produce financial data and reporting, including trial balance, financial support and any other reports as per Management request
• Produce Annual Budget Plan for approval by Management and Board
• Assist external auditors in preparation of audit working papers

Requisites

• Relevant Tertiary Degree or Professional Qualification, 4 years
• Minimum 6 years’ experience, with at least 2 years at financial institution or similar financial services organization
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret rules and guidelines logically
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Understanding of branchless banking and mobile financial services (strong advantage)
• Must have a valid driver’s licence
• Must be a Namibian citizen or have permanent residency
