QKR Namibia is recruiting a Mechanical Foreman, to be based in Karibib, Namibia.
Duties
- QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine, situated in Karibib. Namibia seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical Foreman
 
- The position reports to the Plant Maintenance Engineer
 
- Some of the incumbents' accountabilities:
 
- Provide a maintenance and repair service to all Operational Plants by supervising, co-ordinating and controlling the Maintenance Workshop staff and resources in accordance with Engineering, Safety and Company standards
 
- Attend daily Production Meetings in order to share workshop scheduling information with production foremen and managers and to receive information on additional service needs
 
- Carry out Plant Maintenance services, repairs & maintenance within agreed deadlines
 
- Use staff and workshop resources optimally and most efficiently in providing services
 
- Assure alignment between short-term and medium-term schedules and planning
 
- Accurate control of cost factors within own authority
 
- Ensure a productive and engaged team by enacting effective supervisory practices
 
- To ensure compliance to Navachab SHEO requirements in areas of accountabilities
 
- Manage repair or maintenance and refurbishment work in a systematic and professional manner
 
Requisites
- Grade 12, with a Trade Diploma OR certificate (and 4 passed subjects al N3 (Level III) or equivalent) as Fitter & Turner/Millwright
 
- Five (5) years' relevant post trade, of which two (2) years must have been at a supervisory level in the maintenance field, preferably in mining (or a similar industry)
 
- Valid driver's license
 
- Previous SAP experience will be an added advantage
 
- Completion of formal Supervisory development training will be an advantage
 
- Hydraulics systems experience will be an added advantage
