QKR Namibia is recruiting a Senior Metallurgist, to be based in Karibib, Namibia.
Duties
- QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine, situated in Karibib Namibia seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Metallurgist
- The position reports to the Processing Manager
- Some of the Incumbents' accountabilities:
- Actively supporting SHE Management systems
- Providing support to the Processing Manager in coordinating the development, implementatio and execution of the metallurgical projects
- Providing Guidance and focus to achieve production targets of the mine
- Provide technical specialist support and advice through collateral and cross-functional approaches and analysis pertaining to productivity
- Maintaining effective working relations on a continuous basis with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to ensure quality of service to the mine
- Monitor the effectiveness of the metallurgical systems for continuous improvement
- Guide, develop and execute commissioning strategies
Requisites
- Relevant Metallurgical or Chemical degree/diploma
- Minimum seven (7) years of extensive relevant plant operational experience, preferably within the mining industry. Three (3) years should be at a senior level
- Sound experience in managing a diverse team
- Sound understanding of applicable legislation pertaining to SHE Management systems
- Sound knowledge and understanding of metallurgical processing plant equipment, operations and related machinery
- Experience with milling, leaching, belt filtration, concentration and sorting techniques will be deemed advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
