Team Member – ALM

Description

• Job grade: C2 (Patterson grading)
• Improve the bank’s financial ratios through engagement with all stakeholders and the provision of timely, high-quality reports to executive management

Duties

• Review and manage the bank’s balance sheet to achieve an optimal deposit liability mix
• Provide initiatives to increase interest income, reduce interest expense, and enhance net revenue from funds
• Assist in achieving funding cost targets for both local and foreign currencies
• Advise on appropriate rates and approve risk asset requests to improve the Net Revenue from Fund (NRFF)
• Grant exceptional approvals on tenured deposits to mobilize funds effectively
• Prepare and execute contingency funding agreements with local and international banks
• Generate timely and quality reports, including ALM Updates, ALCO, EXCO, and MCC reports
• Ensure compliance with liquidity ratios, loan-to-funding ratios, and other regulatory limits
• Provide simulations to demonstrate impacts on ALM metrics as necessary
• Regularly review and update all ALM policies to reflect current practices

Requisites

• A Bachelors degree in a numerate discipline
• Relevant professional qualifications
• 2–3 years of experience in banking, particularly in sales within financial markets
• Skills & Abilities:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proficiency in financial reporting and compliance standards
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
