Rössing Uranium is recruiting an Accountant: Cost & Production, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
  • Vacancy exists for a role of Accountant: Cost & Production in the finance department reporting to the Specialist Management Accounting
  • The successful incumbent will oversee the responsible for the coordination, consolidations, financial modelling, and analysis of the business results for the plans and forecasts as well as monthly actual results for the purpose of reporting to the senior management team
  • A key aspect of the roles is providing invaluable business partnering support, particularly in variance and financial analysis, ensuring that insights drive informed decision-making
Duties
  • Maintaining a safe, healthy and accident - free workplace with minimal impact on the environment in compliance with corporate and company policy and legal requirements
  • Achieving progress against personal development objectives
  • Developing effective plans (budget forecast) Ensuring that plans and forecasts are done on time and in accordance with CNUC guidelines and latest value plans and are complete and accurate
  • Ensuring the standards and timeliness of reporting requirements to ensure that area management accounts are submitted on time to avoid delays to the month end process and reporting to CNUC and Senior Management
  • Providing critical analysis of variances against plan and forecast on a monthly, quarterly, half year and annual basis to identify opportunities to increase business value
  • Sufficiently understand the business unit's operating processes, metal inventory flows, revenue streams, and cost flows
  • Ensuring that the Cost & Production accountant will be able to add value to the business process and during monthly management meeting
  • Applying financial modelling and business intelligence tools (Power BI) to provide meaningful information to aid management/business partners decision making
  • Initiating cost saving ideas aimed at reducing overall area, and mine costs
  • Continuously evaluate projects to optimise cost efficiency
Requisites
  • Grade 12 with a recognized B.Com Degree in Accounting
  • NQF Level 7/8
  • A minimum of five (5) years post qualification working experience in a costing environment for a Degree holder
  • OR
  • Grade 12 with a National Diploma in Accounting NQF Level 6 with A minimum of seven (7) years post-qualification working experience in a
  • costing environment for a Diploma Holder
  • Prior experience in mining environment is advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of financial modelling and business intelligence tools (power BI) is advantageous
  • CIMA / CA will be advantageous
  • Valid BE (Code 08) Driver’s Licence
  • A Police certificate of conduct of not older than six months is required. A record will not automatically disqualify candidates
  • Required Competencies and Skills:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in accounting, finance analysis and Planning
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modeling technique
  • Advanced proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint/Excel), SAP and Power BI
