ABT Associates is recruiting a Accounts/ Logistics Assistant - Namibia SAFE (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Abt Associates will be supporting the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) to accelerate widespread equitable access to and delivery of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines in Namibia. Abt will support the MoHSS’ PHC Directorate to expand and accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination program as part of the country’s National Deployment and Vaccination Plan (NDVP). The COVID-19 vaccination rollout activities aim to support the MoHSS to increase the COVID-19 vaccine coverage from the current 14% to 40% of Namibia’s population
  • The COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout Accounts/Logistics Assistant will be based in Windhoek and will provide logistical and financial support to the technical and service delivery teams in various regions
Duties
  • Assists in development, management, and monitoring of project budgets for the assigned activity
  • Assists in the preparation of accurate financial reports and projection of funding needs
  • Records expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the books of accounts
  • Assist with procurement tasks, including preparing for requests for quotations, quotations or bid analyses, preparing purchases requisitions and orders; and filing procurement documents
  • Responsible for ensuring all supporting documentation are in place. Reviews invoices, prepares payment vouchers and corresponding entries into the books of accounts
  • Checks petty cash payments and periodically reconciles petty cash balances
  • Ensures that the books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit, when required
  • Assist in planning and conducting the logistics for project activities including workshops, training, and meetings, lodging and travel arrangements
  • Provide travel logistics support to staff and partners including the booking of transport and accommodation
  • Arrange transportation, schedule staff, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
  • Always maintain accurate records of all commodities
Requisites
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Business, or other relevant field preferred
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in accounting – experience in program financial Management desirable. Petty cash management, financial reporting, and budget tracking
  • Experience in inventory management is desirable
  • A self-starter, with strong coordination skills that is able to perform under pressure is preferred
  • A strong command of financial and other computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks, Access, etc
  • High School Diploma + Four years of relevant experience, or Associates Degree + Two years of relevant experience
