NAMFISA is recruiting an AML Compliance Officer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • The purpose of this job is to supervise, monitor and enforce compliance with the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Act (FIA) using a riskbased approach as part of NAMFISA’s responsibilities as a Supervisory
  • Body, to liaise with all relevant bodies and stakeholders in fulfilling AML duties in line with the Organisational Strategic Objectives
  • DIVISION: MARKET CONDUCT
  • THE POSITION REPORTS TO THE MANAGER: AML AND INSPECTIONS
Duties
  • Ensure Namfisa’s compliance to FIA
  • Assess FIA compliance by Accountable & Reporting Institutions
  • Assess and manage risks posed by money laundering activities as well as aspects of non-compliance with the provisions of FIA
  • Develop and implement innovative compliance techniques that may be used to assess FIA compliance within the scope of designated Accountable & Reporting Institutions
  • Provide guidance or training to Accountable & Reporting Institutions that will enhance FIA compliance
  • Deploy remedial actions or compliance interventions that will eliminate aspects of non-compliance identified in Namfisa, Accountable &
  • Reporting Institutions
  • Interact with the FIC at the Bank of Namibia
  • Keep abreast with AML related developments regionally and internationally
Requisites
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • B degree qualification with special emphasis in the areas of auditing, law, business and/or finance i.e. project management, accounting and economics
  • Three (3) years AML compliance experience
  • Certificate in AML will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of:
  • The legislations supervised by NAMFISA and other relevant legislation
  • International and national AML/CFT/CPF/CFT legislation, instruments, frameworks and systems
  • Detailed knowledge of the financial sector and industries supervised by NAMFISA
  • Basic Companies Law
  • Interpretation of statutes
