Bokomo is recruiting an Assistant Manager: Distribution (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Reporting to the Manager Distribution
Duties
  • The Assistant Manager: Distribution will lead, motivate, direct and control Drivers and Driver Assistants
  • Build and group loads as per specified routes and delivery schedule for maximum utilization & efficiency
  • Create daily transportation planning and share information with the relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Complete daily transport utilization report and share with relevant stakeholders
  • Support Management in the quarterly route reviews
  • Complete claims upliftments and ensure that documentation is dispatched on the correct route and to the correct Driver
  • Confirm that invoices and POD match and follow-up with the relevant parties if there is a difference
  • Receive claims from the trade and recon products versus upliftment instruction
  • Complete returns documentation per category (back to stocks, in transit damages and or quality)
  • Complete route summaries/shipments within stipulated time lines and hand over to debtors department for processing
  • Complete weekly open shipment reports and share with relevant stakeholders
  • Alert Security department of any stock discrepancies
  • Separate quality claims and immediately alert Quality department
  • Weigh in all sugar returns from the trade and compare customer weights versus actual’s received
  • Generate weekly reports of all sugar received from the trade per customer group and product pack size
  • Work with Support Team to provide exceptional customer services and address customer concerns. Works closely with Controller: Fleet to ensure the fleet used to transport goods and people are roadworthy and in good condition
  • Work closely with Payroll and HR department- to complete Drivers and Driver Assistant’s weekly time and attendance
  • Work in close co-operation with Sales Operations, and Warehouse Departments to ensure high customer service levels
  • Assist colleagues wherever possible in line with the company leadership model
  • Initiate and Chair disciplinary hearings if and when required
  • Execute all other legal and reasonable duties as directed by the employer including but not limited to stock taking and fumigation
Requisites
  • Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Transport related field
  • Three years relevant experience required for the job
  • Valid Code B drivers license
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • SAP experience will be added advantage
