Wilderness is recruiting an Assistant Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Lodge manager with managing and maintaining the smooth operation of the Lodge
  • To provide leadership and development of staff, maintain lodge facilities and provide a level of hospitality which meets the company’s minimum standards
Duties
  • Assist with the the day to day running and efficient operation of the Lodge to ensure exceptional service is delivered to guests in all areas at the Lodge
  • Work closely with the Lodge Manager in developing and improving on the activities and guest experience in the camp
  • Support the Lodge Manager in achieving the camp/lodger goals and objectives
  • Assist with providing direction, oversight and guidance to the Lodge team
  • Assist the Lodge Manager with implementing and monitoring policies, processes and standards to ensure an effective and exceptional service is provided to guests
  • Stay up to date with changes in policies, ways of working and standards in the industry
  • Perform all daily, weekly and monthly administrative duties relating to Lodge operations in line with company policies and procedures
  • Identify and report all necessary maintenance required at the Lodge and ensure all issues are timeously resolved
  • Assist with on-the-job training for Lodge staff
  • Assist with the welfare, safety and management of all staff employed within the camp
  • Assist with the implementation of the Wilderness Environmental and Social Standards in the camp
  • Assist with ensuring that the camp operates in compliance with the environmental policies and social policies of Wilderness
  • Assist with managing all emergency situations in the camp in accordance with the Wilderness procedures
Requisites
  • At least 3-5 years of prior working experience in a similar role at a 5-star Lodge
  • Keen understanding of the ethos of bush life, with a plainly apparent respect and compassion for conservation
  • Business level fluency in English
  • Administrative skills and experience will be an advantage
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Namibian Citizen/ valid work permit to work and live in Namibia
