Nedbank is recruiting a Chief AML, CFT, Sanctions Officer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To formulate the strategy and policies to control, manage and direct functions across NedNamibia Holdings Group (NNH Group) to ensure risks in relation to Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, and Sanctions and accompanying Reputational Risks are managed, mitigated and reported
  • The execution of this purpose includes to analyse, monitor and report on regulatory and international best practice risk indicators, trends, typologies, controls and systems associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions risk management and compliance and its controls, to ensure risks to the NNH Group are mitigated
Duties
  • Deliver on responsibilities of the appointed Compliance Officer in terms of the Financial Intelligence Act (13 of 2012) as amended (Amendment Act 6 of 2023)
  • Risk Management:
  • Review AML, CFT and Sanctions framework, policies and procedures, set standards and monitor implementation across the NNH Group
  • Reviewing and implementing AML, CFT and Sanctions risk strategy
  • Reviewing and implementing Risk Management and Compliance Programme
  • Reviewing, developing, monitoring and reporting on Key Risk Indicators
  • qManage relevant AML, CFT and Sanctions Training by assisting in developing Training Material, presenting training and overseeing training completion and statistics
  • Primary lead in the provision of input to the delivery, improvement, standardization and enhancement of strategic and tactical solutions, including projects, systems and initiatives through interpretation and application of best practice and regulatory risk requirements
  • Statutory reporting to Regulators
  • Reporting to NNH Group committees
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management:
  • Build internal and external relationships through operational and strategic engagements, to positively influence business strategy and achievement of the NNH Group objectives
  • Representing the Chief Risk Officer on items related to monitoring and analysis of AML, CFT and Sanctions risk management at relevant governance forums, structures, meetings, engagements & regulatory interactions where required
  • Abilities Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in practical application of relevant Namibian legislation
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation
  • Financial services industry knowledge, as well as sound understanding of local and global AML / CFT and Sanctions Risk management fundamentals
  • Superior leadership and interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong execution focus and ability to work independently and in teams
Requisites
  • Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Educational Requirements:
  • Professional Qualification / Honours Degree in Law or Commerce
  • Certifications from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) - preferred, not essential
  • Minimum Experience Level:
  • Minimum of 7 years post graduate experience of a risk, legal or compliance nature of which 3 years, preferably in the financial services industry
