Chief Engineering Services


Namwater is recruiting a Chief Engineering Services, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
  • To develop, and implement the engineering strategy covering resource planning, operations, and infrastructure maintenance for the technical engineering function to ensure that water supply systems are operating efficiently and effectively
  • To direct installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of all water supply infrastructure and associated electrical and mechanical installations, necessary for the continuity of water production and distribution operations
  • To develop and implement the rolling five-year capital development plan, annual capital development plan and annual research plan for projects to ensure that water supply infrastructure is created or replaced to support the execution of the company’s business
  • Management of the operational and capital budget
  • Manage efficiency of infrastructure design
  • Customer and stakeholder relationship management
  • Corporate governance compliance
  • Strategic financial management
  • Compilation and maintenance of rolling five-year capital development plan
  • Compilation and maintenance of the rolling annual capital development plan and research plan
  • Development of engineering operational procedures, policies, standards and controls
  • Conduct interdepartmental project meetings
  • Process and Reengineering Management
  • Management of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Management of Service Level Agreement
  • Management of Programme management’s assets
  • Reporting on execution of capital development plan
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Relevant Honor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical or equivalent engineering qualification)
  • 2 years’ experience in Engineering management of the water industry of which 5 years at the Senior Management level
  • Experience in successfully leading teams of people in large corporate environments
  • Level 8
  • Registered professional Engineer
  • Driver’s License Code B
