  • The purpose of this job is to oversee the organization's operations. The incumbent will oversee diverse business operations; and is expected to be an experienced and efficient leader with excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics. The goal of the COO position is to secure the functionality and sustainability of the business through delivery of operational strategy. The COO’s role is a Namibia Group EXCO role reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer
Duties
  • Design and implementation of business operational strategy and Business plans Operational Excellence
  • Management of Risk/Operational Compliance
  • Establishing policies that promote company culture and vision
  • Overseeing daily operations of the company and the work of the various Heads of Departments reporting into the role
  • Leading Heads of department to achieve maximum performance and dedication
  • Evaluating performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Managing relationships with partners/vendors
Requisites
  • Business or Relevant Degree. An MBA qualification will be an added advantage.
  • 8-10 plus years' experience of executive management level
  • Strong process orientation
  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability and vision to see the big picture and desegregate business plans into component risks
  • Extremely diligent and persistent
  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role
  • Understanding of business functions within financial services
  • Experience in driving and over-seeing transformational change
  • Relevant business/financial services/risk qualification will be an added advantage
  • Deep understanding of risks associated with financial services

  • Proven track record of experience in stakeholder engagement as well as a record in building and maintaining effective working relationships and building consensus at a senior level
  • Experience with Digital process automation

  • Liaison with business leaders on a peer-to-peer relations
  • Strong track record of establishing credibility and building trust at all levels
  • Proven experience in managing risk, risk profiles and the alignment of strategy based on risk
  • Demonstrable ability to make risk-based decisions (establish value creation through managing risk)
  • Strong business acumen: business and financial judgement, problem solving skills and ability to dissect large volumes of data/information
  • Proficient professional communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to interact, challenge and influence effectively at Board/Committees, and all, levels within the organization
