Collections Portfolio Manager Pre-Legal

FNB Namibia is recruiting a Collections Portfolio Manager Pre-Legal, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To lead a team and manage loan instalments repayments from employers on scheme accounts, reconciliations and timeous tagging of accounts and engagement with employers to manage credit risk emanating from negative economic impacts for example Liquidations and retrenchments
  • To minimise portfolio provisions, supervise and collect on all the overdue and defaulting loans and overdrafts in order to reduce the impairments and provisions on the Bank's Profit and Loss and drive the Bank's credit portfolio
Duties
  • Coordinate activities of staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient department that reduces the number of cases that are overlooked
  • Oversee the pre-legal collection of outstanding defaulted credit exposures to minimize profit loss while ensuring it is handled appropriately and per company policy
  • Create and implement strategies to increase the number of successful pre-legal collections on outstanding debt
  • Recruit, train and evaluate staff within pre-legal collections to ensure required skill levels
  • Develop goals that complement the overarching business goals of the company and coordinate staff to continually meet and exceed goals
  • Run reports and analyze data pertaining to the department and share with department staff as needed
  • Lead high-performance collections teams to take ownership and accountability of the pre-legal collections focus areas
  • Help build a self-sustaining culture of staff morale, collaboration, effective communication and efficient processes
  • Deliver a quality service level to customers with an aim to retain and rehabilitate clients
  • Support the Senior Pre-Legal Collections Manager with all strategic, process and operational related initiatives necessary to reach departmental targets and goals
Requisites
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Financial, Marketing or Business related field
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in a Credit and/or Collections role, have in-depth knowledge of pre-legal collections, debt recovery processes and insight of relevant regulations in a Banking environment
  • Have leadership experience in a Credit and Collections environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
