Capricorn is recruiting a Corporate Affairs Manager (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Develop, implement and coordinate Capricorn Group’s corporate affairs strategy which includes building and maintaining an effective investor relations programme, monitoring compliance to all stock exchange requirements and production of the Group’s Integrated Annual Report. Act as an official spokesperson of Capricorn Group and drive strategic stakeholder relationships with shareholders, analysts, investors and Government. Proactively manage the Group’s reputation risk as Principal Risk Owner for Reputation Risk
  • Monitor brand health through planned brand and stakeholder audits and surveys and monitor national development plans. Coordinate the delivery of services of Group Brand and Corporate Affairs to all subsidiaries as per their stated needs outlined in formal service level agreements
Duties
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as one of the Capricorn Group’s approved spokespersons dealing with media and other stakeholder queries as required
  • Provide input and support on the development and implementation of Capricorn Group’s annual strategic stakeholder engagement plan
  • Establish networks with relevant financial organisations, government bodies and other identified strategic stakeholders
  • Encourage collaboration between the Marketing and Communication departments from different Group subsidiaries and associates through a clear communication plan that includes in-person and online engagements with department team members
  • Drive the stakeholder relationships, with a focus on Government, shareholders, analysts and investors in support of the Investor Relations programme
  • Implement and maintain a process to coordinate the top strategic stakeholder issues of the subsidiaries to be monitored by Group Exco and compiling a quarterly report to the Board
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders and other relevant opinion leaders to build allies/collaborative opportunities in support of the Capricorn Group strategic objectives including a new focus on ESG and other sustainability legislation etc.
  • Develop, recommend and implement appropriate Corporate Affairs strategies, programmes and policies for key stakeholders to achieve positive image and brand awareness
  • Identify and report any deterioration in stakeholder relationships to the Group Principal Risk Owner for Reputation Risk
Investor Relations
  • Support the Group Executive: Brand & Corporate Affairs in all investor related matters and participate in all investor relations committee meetings as a standing member to ensure that all communication related matters to staff and shareholders are attended to as well as to ensure compliance to stock exchange requirements
  • Coordinate the design, layout and production process of the annual Capricorn Group Integrated Report and related printed and online publications. This includes being the liaison between the external service providers and the internal content owners and providers of content
  • Coordinate the update of the Capricorn Group website with required content as per the NSX requirements and requests from the Investor Relations Committee
  • Manage and coordinate all investor related functions and special events including the annual financial results presentation, media and investor interactions
Reputation Risk Management
  • As Principal Risk Owner for Reputation Risk, pro-actively manage Capricorn Group’s reputation risk in compliance with the Group Reputation Risk Framework
  • Consider the impact of other principal risks and its potential for reputation risk
  • Report and address any reputation risk appetite breaches within Capricorn Group and subsidiaries
  • Assess group-wide reputation risk threats and trends and escalate any actual reputation incidents timeously
  • Establish and coordinate the Capricorn Group reputation incident management response team to appropriately mitigate reputation risks associated with significant incidents
  • Develop and implement the Group’s crisis communication strategy, setting out the minimum standards for crisis communication and planning in the Group
  • Develop the Capricorn Group crisis communication plan which covers the reputation risk scenarios as per the Group Reputation Risk Framework
  • Promote and develop reputation risk culture and awareness through appropriate initiatives and programmes
  • Reputation risk related web and social media management and monitoring
Brand and Stakeholder Research
  • Annually plan, budget for and execute brand and stakeholder audits, dipstick audits and surveys to ensure the health of the brand and relationships with stakeholders
  • Present findings of research to key internal stakeholders and develop plans in response to the issues and concerns raised in any audit or survey and update the stakeholder engagement plan accordingly
  • Monitoring national and regional developments on trends and key issues as well as national development plans. Keep the business informed on these and identify and recommend key actions in response to these trends and national development plans that should be considered in the Brand and Corporate Affairs strategy
SLA Management
  • Annually review SLAs with each Capricorn group entity and recommend changes on the SLAs to align with to the expertise and capacity within Group Brand and Corporate Affairs department and the stated needs of the Capricorn group client
  • Facilitates the process of creating addendums to the SLA’s should revisions need to be made e.g. fee changes
  • Regular consultation and engagement with MD’s/Executive Management of subsidiaries as well as the Line
  • Managers and MCCS staff in the Capricorn Group entities, to build and maintain effective relationships and to improve collaboration by understanding of the focus, priorities and business strategy of each entity
  • Ensures agreement and understanding of all relevant parties on the agreed upon SLA’s and that delivery of service to client’s takes place in line with the deliverables agreed upon in the SLA’s Channels all service and SLA related requests from Capricorn group clients to the Group EO: Brand and
  • Corporate Affairs and his/her team as per the agreed upon processes
  • Manages expectations from Capricorn group clients in terms of service delivery and agreed deliverables as per SLA with MCCS
Thought Leadership
  • Develop and implement thought leadership content and strategy on Corporate Affairs related matters such as
  • Reputation Risk and Investor Relations, to support the awareness and positioning of the Capricorn Group brand internally and externally
  • Research and publish content in multiple formats and channels and provide strategic oversight to other thought leadership consultants on the team
Financial Management
  • Participates in annual planning of Group Brand and Corporate Affairs operational and revenue budget to effectively support the implementation of the Brand and Corporate Affairs department’s initiatives in support of the Group’s strategic choices
  • Develop and execute annual budget for all Corporate Affairs-related expenditure
  • Compile and submit documentation and motivation to the Group Board Procurement Committee as and when required
  • Continuously drives cost containment
Governance
  • Monitoring the overall Governance Framework of policies related to Group Brand & Corporate Affairs in terms of review cycle and process of reviewing by the appropriate forums and committees
  • Supports the Group Executive: Brand and Corporate Affairs in reviewing and updating specific Capricorn
  • Group policies and communicating changes to policies to Capricorn Group entities
  • Coordinate the cascading of group policies within all group entities

  • Eight years relevant experience of which 3 years should have been in a management position
