Ohorongo Cement is recruiting a Creditors Clerk, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Reporting to the Senior Accounting Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the accurate and timeous matching and processing of supplier invoices, ensuring payments are done according to predetermined payment terms
  • Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the completion of vendor reconciliations and to assist with administrative tasks and keeping an efficient and updated filing system
  • TYPE: Full Time
  • SALARY: Market Related
Duties
  • Perform day to day processing of creditor transactions and supplier reconciliations
  • Accurate and timeous processing of invoices and payments
  • Timely action of consignment and transporter reconciliations
  • Load payments, attend to bank reconciling entries and provide suppliers with remittances
  • Maintain an efficient and updated filing system
  • Follow up and action on open orders with Procurement department
  • Settle, review and follow up on GRIR
  • Monthly control and collection of original SAD500 documents as per Asycuda report
  • Process foreign vendor invoices and down payments
  • Completion of upfront payments as requested by procurement, obtain authorizing signatures, and forward it to the bank
  • Follow up that subsequent payment advise is received
  • Assist with administrative duties as and when required
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as requested by supervisor/manager
Requisites
  • Grade 12 with Accounting
  • SAP Experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge/understanding of VAT
  • Computer Literate
  • MS Office knowledge (MS Excel & MS Word)
  • Fluent in English
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate sound work ethics
  • Ability to organize own workload and take initiative to resolve problems
  • Work extremely accurate with attention to detail
  • Effectively manage time to meet deadlines and payment dates
