City of Windhoek is recruiting an Engineer: Protection (O&M), Projects and DC Systems (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Responsible for the management and engineering of operations, project management and maintenance of a reliable protection and DC systems on the 11kV and 66kV distribution networks of the City of Windhoek
- Key Performance Areas:
- Responsible for Protection and DC Systems management functions
- Carry out protection project management, testing, re-commissioning, repair of all protection and DC systems
- Carry out Power System analysis and implement post fault recommendations in order to provide remedial actions and improve the effectiveness of the protection system
- Analyze protection findings and initiate appropriate action
- Compile and manage annual sub-sectional budgets
- Manage general and Safety tasks and responsibilities
- Performs Operation & Maintenance Planning and Administrative Duties
Requisites
- Qualification requirements:
- B. SC Degree in Electrical Engineering or B. Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience required:
- A minimum period of five (5) years' relevant experience complete for professional engineers registration or Six (6) years' relevant experience complete for incorporated engineers registration, experience in medium and high voltage network protection systems
- Required specialization:
- Specialization in the fields of substation automation, telemetry, high and medium voltage, protection on LV/MV/HV system
- Legal requirement:
- A valid code B/BE driver’s license
- Legal requirements in terms of registration:
- Registration with Engineering Council of Namibia as Professional Engineer or Incorporated Engineer
