Environmental Officer (m/f)

Duties

• Coordinate Environmental compliance audits for the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and site inspections
• Ensure timely collection samples for various monitoring programs
• Coordinate logistics with laboratory analysis
• Ensure routine water abstraction and water level readings
• Carry out inspections of equipment and facilities
• Coordinate and prepare for departmental audits
• Coordinate Environmental training programs
• Create awareness on Environmental aspects and their controls in different departments
• Promote and manage the company HSE policies and standards and enforce compliance with regulations
• Participate actively in HSE meetings and audits and report deviations accordingly
• Keep Environmental report up to date

Requisites

• Degree in Environmental Management/Health/Science or related field
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mining industry
• Practical knowledge of sampling/measuring and monitoring/data collection and management
• Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills
