Old Mutual is recruiting an Executive Assistant to the Group CEO, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • This role facilitates and provide ongoing support to the Group CEO in delivering OMNAM’s strategy and business plans, monitors key initiatives against milestones and targets and resolution of issues arising from various interactions with BU Managers
  • The job requires a high level of integrity, maturity, and confidentiality in assisting the Group CEO with his deliverables
  • The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts and requires a flexible self-driven person comfortable with ambiguity and with a very strong can-do attitude
Duties
  • Supports the annual business and strategic planning process within the segment
  • Assesses status of initiatives against scorecards, analyses trends in delivery and highlights areas of concern for discussion at EXCO
  • Provides project administrative assistance to the Group CEO
  • Ensures well-structured and effective communication of the strategic direction to the various businesses
  • Compiles presentations to facilitate continuous understanding of strategy and progress in delivery of strategy, as well as reading packs for distribution prior/at meetings
  • Ensures business units comply with timelines for reporting deliverables and follows up on outstanding reports
  • Collects information from business units that feed into the segment business plans and reports, and consolidates to a segment view
  • Sources and/or conducts ad hoc research for use by the Group CEO
  • Sets agenda and takes minutes in Exco and senior management meetings
  • Follows up on actions arising from minutes and reports on outcomes
  • Builds and maintains relationships with senior management
  • Oversee the Junior Executive committee
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ Commerce / Law/ Accounting / Actuarial Science
  • A relevant post graduate business qualification will be an advantage
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a preferably Corporate Financial Services environment involving liaising at a senior management level
  • Project management skills advantageous
  • Being a self starter and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Good understanding of insurance & investment terminology
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and analysis
