Cenored is recruiting an Executive: Network Engineering & Expansion, to be based in Otjiwarongo, Namibia.
Description
  • To lead the affairs of all functions within the Department by cascading Corporate intent and scorecard into Departmental scorecard with relevant and appropriate policies, systems and processes to ensure efficient policy and projects execution. Controls and maintains the supply and distribution of energy, in order to provide an efficient service to stakeholders
Duties
  • Financial Management: Exercising financial management in terms of the Capital- and Operational Budget in order to execute projects to the best interest of the Company
  •  Advisory Services: Advising BOD and Exco as well external stakeholders on relevant electricity legislation and regulations pertaining to engineering and expansion of electricity networks
  •  Stakeholder Engagement: Representing the Company at external engagements and providing strategic support and input to solve problems
  •  Network Capacity, Design and Planning: Ensuring that the electrical networks are professionally designed according to the applicable national and international standards and requirements of ESI and the Company.
  •  Project and Infrastructure Planning of Cenored: Researching equipment, material and project planning systems needed to optimize CENORED project planning and execution as well input into the annual budget.
  •  Manage and Control the Geographical Information System (GIS): Taking responsibility of the monitoring and coordination of the information on the GIS database according national and international standards and requirements of ESI and the Company
  •  Network Systems Design and Planning: Managing the interface between CENORED, NamPower and Independent Power Producers at a technical and operational level to ensure the uninterrupted supply of electricity to the customer
  •  Manage OHS Performance: Ensuring a safe working environment for company employees by adhering to the requirements as set out in the OHS regulations
  •  Operational Due Diligence and Reporting: Monitoring on a regular basis the activities of the Department by having feedback meetings with management and staff, and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports to management & CEO
  •  Performance Management: Managing the Cenored Performance Management Policy and procedure in the Department
Requisites
  • Minimum Qualification B:
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) or Bachelor of Technology (Electrical Engineering)
  • NQF level 7 qualifications
  • Honours Degree in relevant Engineering disciplines or Business
  • Administration/Leadership/Management
  • Professional Registration with ECN
  • Preferred Qualification:
  • Master Degree in the following relevant disciplines (Engineering, Renewable Energies, Smart Engineering Systems, Hydrogen and Business Administration/Leadership/Management)
  • Specific Knowledge (Network fault level studies and protection systems):
  • High Voltage Switching Procedures
  • Health and Safety Regulations
  • Environmental Regulations
  • Relevant SABS Regulations
  • National Regulated Standards
  • Quality of Supply and Services Standards
  • Technical Regulations
  • Namibian Labour Act
  • Electricity Act and Regulations
  • Local Authorities Act
  • Specific Skills (Practical experience of electrical networks)
  • Strategic Leadership; GIS & CAD; HV Switching Procedures; Project Management; Technical drawings; Renewable energies. Engineering; Negotiation; Conflict Resolution; Analytical; Interpersonal Presentation; Computer Literacy
  • Professional Registration:
  • Registered Professional Engineer (Electrical)
  • Level of Experience:
  • Ten (10) Years engineering experience of which five (5) years should
  • have been in a senior managerial capacity with at least five (3) years
  • practical experience in CAD /GIS and project management
  • environment
  • License Required:
  • Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
