  • Sanlam Namibia is a leading Financial Services Institution, which provides services in the fields of Individual Life Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Unit Trusts and Asset Management.   • Purpose of Position: The individual will have responsibility for the Group's consolidated management and statutory reporting, and will have significant involvement in preparation and submission of the group's financial results. The role will work closely with the Senior Financial Manager
Duties
  • Preparation, assistance and reporting of group's monthly consolidated financial results
  • Analysis, preparation and compilation of monthly management and statutory reporting from Group's operation and results
  • Prepare Annual Financial statements and interim reports of Group's subsidiaries
  • Ensure Group reporting is compliant with regulatory requirements in terms of IFRS, Companies Act, and group requirements
  • Prepare and collates monthly key financial indicators report of the group
  • Prepares and assists in financial budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist with annual audits (internal and external audits)
  • Assist and collate financial information from actuarial required for management and statutory reporting
  • Monthly submission of group results on group consolidation financial system (as per group policies and procedures) within required deadlines
  • Compile and implement controls and procedures in line with group financial reporting framework
  • Assist with implementation of IFRS, system and regulatory financial reporting changes
Requisites
  • Behavioural Skills and Competencies:
  • Highly developed mathematical and/or statistical skills
  • Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent command of English
  • Strong academic record
  • Communication and written reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, working accurately with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • May be required to work overtime from time to time
  • Excellent command of MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word Skills
  • Knowledge of hyperion systems will be an added advantage
