Fourth (4TH) Mate (m/f)

Duties

• The Fourth (4th) Mate will be responsible for maintaining an effective and safe navigational watch
• The incumbent will render support to the Chief, 2nd and 3rd Mates enabling them to focus on all navigational activities on board the vessel
• Must be an excellent organizer and communicator with a proactive and collaborative attitude
• The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment

Requisites

• Deck Officer Class 6 (Mate II) or equivalent as required by the DMA
• 2-3 years sea going experience as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on a fishing vessel
• Advanced Safety Certificates as required by the DMA
• Computer Literacy - MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Experience on a Horse Mackerel midwater trawler – advantageous
