Old Mutual is recruiting a Group Operations Executive (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Develops and manages the strategy and operating model for the operations functions that support the continued generation of value and growth from the existing operations as well as the expansion of the business into new markets within country
- Ensures that operational excellence is maintained as a source of competitive advantage in line with the company’s business strategy and underwriting objectives
- Responsible for all service level agreements for service providers and support areas
- Retains and maintains existing business directly as well as through other managers and their teams
- Accountable for thought leadership and best operating practice in response to external environment
- Strong focus on setting direction and achieving operational results through building a strong operational management team
- Develops managers and specialists under supervision and select potential managers to sustain the pipeline
- Embedding a strong risk and compliance management culture
- Drives operational excellence throughout area of supervision
- Defines performance parameters and measurements for area under supervision
- Contributes to the development of commercially astute business cases for the introduction of new products and services and/or the refinement of existing products and services
Requisites
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (NQF 7)
- Relevant Post Graduate qualification preferred
- Minimum of 6-8 years' experience in a similar role of which 4 years should be senior management experience
- Strategic relationship management and development experience
- Relevant operations experience, ideally in a customer-centric fast-paced environment
- Experience in people management, leading and directing multiple team members in a busy task-oriented environment
- Pro-activeness and strong negotiation skills
- Exceptional Communication Skills; Strong written and presentation skills
- Solid leadership skills – team builder and team motivator
- Strong in strategic thinking and execution
