Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Head: Growth, Business Insights and Analytics, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Provide input to the strategic direction and formulation of the Bank’s growth strategy. Responsible for the implementation and execution of the Bank’s Retail growth and sales strategies to enable sales and deliver the financial targets of the Bank. Provide business insights by performing market research, incorporating market intelligence and critically analyzing, interpreting, and presenting financial- and non-financial data to identify and realize opportunities to grow market share and optimize profitability
Duties
Growth and Customer Focus
  • Provide key inputs to the organisation’s Growth Strategy, by considering industry trends, global best practice, competitor positioning etc.
  • Establish and set relevant Growth KPIs
  • Formulate the Retail Growth strategy action plans and enable the sales organisation to achieve KPIs
  • Implement and maintain sales productivity benchmarks and effective sales and growth metrics reporting mechanisms to manage the sales organisation
  • Ensure the effectiveness and consistency of sales processes and application of sales tools that drive performance of the sales organisation
  • Acts within the scope of corporate objectives and policies to accomplish assigned goals
  • Identify and support the development of appropriate Customer Value Propositions and Products for the different segments
  • Provide input to all aspects of the go-to-market plan, including distribution, marketing, campaigns, training aspects and delivery of the CVPs and/or Products relating to sales
  • Responsible for the delivery of business case targets as part of the commercialisation of products and services
  • Oversee that the sales organisation is adequately trained, skilled, developed and that their expertise are fully applied
  • Responsible, in conjunction with the Human Capital Department, of the sales incentive and leads and referrals models
Business insights and Analytics
  • Responsible for the being the main source of sales data, analytics and insight generation
  • Identify relevant financial and non-financial data sources to provide business insights to achieve the Strategic growth objectives
  • Responsible for the analysis of financial and non-financial data, specifically focussing on product, channel and customer data, on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities to achieve growth targets and optimise profitability
  • Provide insights to and develop action plans for the sales organisation resulting from analytics performed
  • Implement and maintain relevant models pertaining to the sales organisation
Financial Management and Reporting
  • Responsible for monthly and hoc reporting on Banking Services’
  • Financial performance – Sales, Balance Sheet, Net interest income and Non-interest revenue
  • Actual performance against targeted sales metrics
  • Monitor and manage sales/growth performance
  • Responsible for Banking Services’ budgeting process with regards to Balance Sheet, Net interest income and
  • Non-interest revenue, including sales target and metrics setting to achieve the budget
  • Responsible for the compilation and reporting of branch assessment models and relevant sales and financial dashboards
People management
  • Provide leadership to the entire team, defining objectives to be achieved by the function and ensuring effective execution of the duties of the function
  • Effectively delegate authority and responsibility in line with business objectives to ensure empowerment, motivation and effectiveness of immediate subordinates
  • Manage performance of subordinates ensuring agreement of annual goals, measuring performance against agreed goals and dealing with non-performance accordingly and in line with the organisation’s policies
  • Manage the recruitment, development, training and selection of subordinates to ensure adequate succession planning as well as compliance with labour legislation, policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Ensure that the working environment contributes to improving staff morale and increasing productivity

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or related field
  • Ideal CA (Chartered Accountant)/MBA
  • Experience:
  • Five (5) years in a senior management position in business.
  • A demonstrated track record of delivering top-line growth and bottom-line growth
  • Financial management and data analytics
