Standard Bank is recruiting a Head, Operations, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
  • The role exists to develop and align the country operations strategy to the country business strategy and lead Operations towards becoming an efficient and effective business function
  • Honours Degree in Generic Management
  • Master’s degree in Business Commerce 3-4 years experience in Management of complex operations, ideally within the corporate financial service sector
  • 5-7 years extensive knowledge and understanding of the various systems used within the wider Processing and Clearing area
  • Knowledge of corporate banking and the interface between frontline service, sales and support functions. Knowledge of banking transaction processes relevant to products and services offered to customers
  • Practical knowledge of how to in-put, access and utilize information to analyze forecast trends. Working knowledge of capacity management principles and processes
  • 1-2 years process/project management experience will be an added advantage
  • Additional Information:
  • The ability to create mechanisms to ensure that designed processes are implemented correctly and that process changes are made thoughfully and taking into consideration the impacts on people, other processes and technology
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of risk management methodologies, tools, governance structures and regulatory requirements for good management of risk
  • The ability to develop and drive shared understanding of a long term vision for the organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of the process and thinking required to formulate objectives and priorities, and implement plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization in a global environment
  • The ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities and manage risks
