Welwitschia Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Supporter, in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Duties
- Feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients
- Moving patients between departments (e.g. from wards to theatre/x-rays and back)
- Taking supplies to and from wards
- Taking samples to and from laboratories
- Moving specialist apparatus around the hospital
- Daily change bed linen
- Ad hoc tasks as instructed by the nursing management team
Requisites
- Have a friendly, helpful and compassionate manner
- Demonstrate the ability to act calmly and quickly in emergencies
- Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions
- A disposition towards quality and excellent patient care
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Namibian Citizen
- Grade 12, plus a Caregiver Certificate
- At least 1 year’s working experience post-training
- Basic knowledge of infection control, health and safety will be an advantage
- Physically strong, fit and able to cope with lifting weight and mobilizing patients
- Fully proficient in English
- Proficiency in any other Namibian local languages will be an added advantage
- Availability and willingness to work day and night shifts, overtime, weekends, Public Holidays and in all units
