Old Mutual is recruiting a Junior Actuarial Specialist, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Assists with providing, technical support to the Namibian management team (across the various business units)
- Checks, manipulates and analyses volumes of data and draws conclusions from the analyses
- Generates actuarial reports on various technical issues on a periodic basis
- Translates actuarial concepts into client-friendly terminology
- Reviews technical calculations
- Provides actuarial assistance to special project teams or ad-hoc investigations
Requistes
- Namibian citizenship
- University degree specializing in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics and/or Economics
- Registered student of an actuarial association with some progress having been made towards achieving the actuarial qualification (i.e., 6-9 exams passed)
- Client focused
- Ability to make balanced and sound recommendations and decisions
- Ability to perceive, interpret and translate information in order to competently perform processes and tasks at various levels of complexity within the organization
- Self-motivated individual who is able to work accurately under tight time constraints
