  • An exciting opportunity exists for a Leading Hand at Support Equipment workshop on a twelve (12) months fixed term contract in the Mining Asset Management department, reporting to the Foreman Maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality assurance by ensuring adherence to all engineering standards, practices and procedures in the execution of all maintenance tasks, related to spares (BOM), technical and drawing specifications and request for new material and equipment
Duties
  • Maintaining HSE standards
  • Ensuring quality assurance by setting clear standards for the execution of all maintenance tasks in the respective area of responsibility
  • Ensuring that effective maintenance plans are in place
  • Conducting field quality checks to ensure that tasks are completed as per job instructions and specifications
  • Requesting new materials when required and ensuring the correct technical specifications are recorded in SAP
  • Conducting quality inspections on tasks performed by artisans /apprentices /contractors on a daily basis
  • Ensuring operating conditions that minimize consumable costs wherever possible
  • Recommending improvements to processes and consulting with Foreman Maintenance (owners) involved in the process and obtaining approval from direct superior via the change management process
Requisites
  • Grade 12 with 20 points
  • National Vocational Trade Certificate/Diploma with 4 Technical subjects a Level 3/N3 in Boilermaking, Diesel Mechanic, or Auto Electrical
  • Four (4) years post-qualification experience in Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) maintenance
  • A valid Code B driver’s licence
  • Code CE Driver’s licence will be an added advantage

  • SAP knowledge
