Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Legal Collections Officer: Vehicles and Articles, in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Responsible for effective and efficient management and administration of legal collection activities of the Branch in compliance with the Bank’s credit policy and procedures in order to manage the non-performing vehicle and article loans
Duties
  • Legal Collections:
  • Collection of Debts
  • Responsible for taking the following actions pertaining to debt collection on all O.10 accounts:
  •     Analysing accounts, Recommendations to management for collection, Debt collection
  • Realisation of Securities
  • Responsible for the control over and realisation of securities which includes the surrendering of policies ceded, repossession and selling of movable assets and immovable property, the selling of shares, the calling-up of investments, the cession of debtors and the safekeeping of securities
  • Ensure that all securities are legally valid and follow the correct realisation and safekeeping procedures
  • Liaison with Attorneys:
  • Responsible for liaison with legal professionals, including the timeous and accurate submission of information, to execute the legal process and follow-up, to ensure processes are execute Repossessions in Collaboration with Internal Tracer and Investigator:
  • Obtain documentation related to repossessions
  • Retrieve repossessed items
  • Secure storage of repossessed items
  • Auctions:
  • Responsible for the preparation of auctions by obtaining valuations and rates and taxes for properties, compiling lists of properties to be auctioned and by determining reserve prices and obtaining approvals before the auctions
  • Administration:
  • New account recording and capturing
  • Write-offs processing and recording
  • Checking daily and monthly reports
  • Submission of reports, affidavits and management information
  • Checking of requisitions for payment of creditors
  • Follow-up of insurance on vehicles and property
  • Customer Service:
  • Responsible for building and enhancing long-term working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including clients
Requisites
  • Experience/Knowledge & Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a legal environment
  • Debt collection experience
  • Knowledge of the system and processing activities
  • Knowledge of the legal collection service and legal processes in the Bank as well as those prescribed by Law
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate
  • Calculation skills
  • Product knowledge
  • Driver’s License Essential (extensive traveling required)
  • Qualification:
