Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Legal Secretary, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To perform a full range of legal secretarial and related duties in support of an assigned Legal Debt Recovery Advisor and the ongoing operations of the office
Duties
  • Legal Collections:
  • Collection of Debts
  • Execution of the debt collection procedures in compliance with the rules of the Magistrates Court and High Court of Namibia
  • Realization of Securities:
  • Realization of all collateral securities ceded to the Bank in line with the rules of the Magistrates Court and High Court of Namibia
  • Auctions:
  • Planning of auctions in liaison with other internal and external stakeholders
  • Drafting:
  • Responsible for drafting legal documentation for the review of the Legal Debt Recovery Advisor and analyzing collateral documents before drafting court documentation
  • Secretarial Duties:
  • Scheduling of Appointments:
  • Ensure effective and efficient booking of all appointments for the Legal Debt Recovery Advisor and clients
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure that all customers internal and external are assisted in a professional, prompt and in a friendly manner
  • Relationship Management:
  • Building and enhance long term working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including clients, e.g. deputy sheriff, registrar of high court, opposing attorneys, etc
  • Compliance, Risk and Support:
  • Responsible for administration of legal collection external processes and procedures in order to ensure compliance with the Bank’s risk framework to minimize risk
  • Routine Administration:
  • Responsible for effective management and control of all routine administrative activities related to legal collection in the branch in compliance with the Bank’s policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Requisites
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience/Knowledge & Skills
  • At least 7 years experience in a legal collection environment
  • Knowledge of e justice
  • Basic computer skills (words, outlook, excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of debt collection in a banking environment will be an added advantage
  • Qualification:
  • A legal diploma
