B2Gold is recruiting a Machine Operator, to be based in Otjiwarongo, Namibia.
Description
- To operate/undergo training to operate equipment that are required for mining & production purposes
- (6 Months Fixed Term Contract)
Duties
- Operate equipment to expected standards to minimise downtimes
- Record production tally data on the provided production log sheet daily
- Participate in the risk assessment process on tasks that needs to be performed
- Perform routine machine prestart checks as well as equipment logbooks
- Have basic knowledge of equipment mechanical functionality to be able to determine any deviations, malfunctions and failures (to assist in preventative maintenance)
- Record and report identified faults to ensure preventative maintenance is done
- Practise good housekeeping on the equipment
- Maintain daily checklists and logbooks on equipment
- Undertake other operational duties as required by the Mining Supervisor
Requisites
- Minimum Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Certified to operate one type of equipment
- Valid Code B driver’s license
