Manager: Management and Cost


Bokomo is recruiting a Manager: Management and Cost, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
  • Position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the costing aspect of the ERP database for the various operations, researching and rectifying anomalies in the costs and oversight of the capturing and accounting of all transactions related to production and stock movements
  • The position is also responsible to manage the allocated functions in order to support the business in all aspects and to execute the financial functions according to sound financial principles, legal requirements and to the satisfaction of Management
  • Responsible for the development of annual standard costs and periodic reviews to ensure validity and accuracy
  • Identify, provide and deliver solutions relating to Cost Management in order to meet business needs
  • Lead and coordinate with all other departments the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Review and audit BOM’s (Bill of Material) to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices, updating standard costs as required
  • Responsible for development of operating budgets and forecasts
  • Analyse and review results of manufacturing overhead costs charged to manufacture SKUs
  • Review and analyse data related to manufacturing and operating variances
  • Review and reconciliation of the monthly wheat and maize import, producer and processor levies
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the inventory master data of agency goods
  • Responsible for the maintenance of sales and cost price master data of inventory items not on a standard cost valuation system
  • Reconcile perpetual inventory balances to general ledger balances
  • Participate in the month-end close process by preparing monthly journal entries and supporting schedules as required
  • Accountable for daily monitoring of cash flow position and preparation of monthly cash flow forecast
  • Responsible for the maintenance and management of the fixed asset register
  • Participate in the month-end close process
  • Responsible for the review of reconciliations
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and completed articles required
  • 2-5 years’ experience in financial accounting as well cost and financial accounting
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in Excel for analysis, planning & reporting, ability to create, manipulate, utilize spreadsheets, word processing programs
  • Proficient knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • SAP experience in SAP module Material Management and FI
