Duties
- To supervise and coordinate the functions of the Geological Recoveries and Geological Sampling Laboratories including laboratory methods and procedures, Security accurate reporting, Security, Procedures QA/QC, SHE, Administrative functions and Budgets
Requisites
- Grade 12 Certificate (20 points over 5 subjects, and an E in English) or Equivalent National Senior Certificate
- Certificate in mineralogical concepts and application, drawn-up and held in conjunction with a recognised university or Technicon
- Code 08 / BE driver license
- Two years Geological / mineralogical sampling laboratory experience as a Mineralogical Technician/Sorters
- Effective Supervision, Interpersonal Relations & Communications
- Advanced mineralogical and textural analysis techniques
- MS Office applications
- SAP Training HR modules with respect to absences and time management, materials modules related to requisitions, reservations, and notifications
- Laboratory related reporting procedures, methods, and practices
- Laboratory related Safety, Heath, Environment and Security policies and procedures
- Prepares and recommends budget for area of responsibility, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Area Manager and reviews and controls expenditure within approved budgets
- LIMS experience as an advantage
- Experience in Geological Mineralogical Supervisory Role as an advantage
