Duties
Primary Purpose of The Position
  • Control and manage overall production and all related operations at Pasta Polana Instant Noodles to achieve efficient and high-quality factory output
Key Functions and Responsibilities
  • Controlling of Production and all related operations:
  • Ensure full knowledge of noodle manufacturing and packaging processes
  • Ensure that machinery is operated within specified requirements and perform on correct quality
  • Operate machinery effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure that machinery is always safe to work with and do regular visual checks to ensure smooth operation of machinery
  • Set up production and operational process and manage machines to correct operation
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of factory and utility equipment
  • Manage the use of all utilities on site
  • Ensure production targets are achieved as per laid down quality and other standards
  • Ensure that product adheres to all quality & product requirements
  • Ensure that production process adheres to all quality specifications
  • Ensure maintenance is done as per schedule
  • Ensure cleaning is done as per schedule and standards and the timeous ordering of new products as required
  • Ensure efficient waste control
  • Ensure proper planning is done according to orders to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Ensure delivery and receipting of materials as required and specified
  • Supervision of month end stock take as per laid down procedures
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and HACCP standards and procedures
  • Overlook all production activities and Design improvements to ensure production and/or cost savings
  • Do standby duties for problem solving and stand in for personnel on leave and sick leave
  • Logistics:
  • Ensure all raw material is ordered and deliver as per production requirements
  • Manage logistics to deliver raw materials to end used
  • Ensure all production occurs as per production requirements
  • Manage load out of end products and work closely with distribution department
  • Administration:
  • Accurately and timeously filing all required documents as per procedure
  • Ensure receiving of stock and required documentation is done in accordance with correct procedures
  • Timeously submit accurate report to Production Manager regarding performance and efficiencies
  • Keep work instructions up to date and write new work instructions
  • Acts as Health and safety representative and keep records up to date
  • Perform ad hoc duties as requested by Operations Manager
  • Reporting on operation, maintenance, procurement and other business facets on a regular basis
  • Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise staff and ensure all staff remain competent
  • Be a proactive part of the operations team and assist in any activities as required by the team
  • Maintain discipline to reach production targets and improve productivity
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required by the Company
  • Ensure appropriate levels of staff per shift according to operational requirements
  • Accurately identifying training needs and ensure that training requirements are met
  • Ensure staff is performing required duties in accordance with company requirements
  • Prepare and attend disciplinary Hearings
Requisites
  • Grade 12 (NQF 4) with eight (8) years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • OR
  • Grade 12 (NQF 4) with two (2) years’ experience in a management position
  • Other:
  • Technical background will be an added advantage
  • FMCG Operational/Production Management will be an added advantage
  • Namibian citizen
  • Proficiency in English
  • Computer literate
  • Wiling to work shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays
