- Reporting to the Executive:
- Plant Operations, the Production Manager – Clinker & Cement is responsible for overseeing the clinker and cement production processes, managing both shift and day teams, engineers, and external contractors
- This role ensures optimal plant utilization, high production efficiency, and strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- The manager coordinates closely with maintenance and quality departments to drive continuous improvement, cost control, and operational excellence within the grinding and burning division

Duties
- Lead and manage all activities related to clinker and cement production, including shift teams, engineers, contractors, and service providers
- Ensure optimal plant utilization, production efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Oversee kiln operations, shutdown planning, refractory and scaffolding activities
- Manage and improve milling operations, energy efficiency, emissions control, and cost optimization
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and Maintenance teams for process alignment and performance
- Ensure compliance with ISO and other integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Lead and coach a high-performing team through clear performance standards, training, and development
Requisites
- Eng or B.Sc. Eng in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
- At least 5 years of managerial experience in an industrial production environment, preferably in cement, mining, or heavy manufacturing
- Minimum of 2 years cement process knowledge required
- Strong technical foundation in process optimization and raw material chemistry
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
- High stress tolerance, decisiveness, and discipline
- Advanced computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, etc.)
- Fluency in English (German, Afrikaans, or local languages are an advantage
