City of Windhoek is recruiting a Senior Electrical System Controller, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To manage the operating of the electric network and ensure continuous power supply to customers
Duties
- Implements & manages guidelines for the effective control of the network
- Manages emergency shutdowns and power failures, reports outages and proposes improvements to eliminate unforeseen outages
- Manages planned power shutdowns
- Ensures all computerized control systems are operative, updated and utilized effectively
- Provides training to electricians on operating and switching on the electrical network
- Compose & interprets data, reports on system performance, maximum demand and network inefficiencies and proposes improvements to effectively control electrical network
- Manages the section
Requistes
- B-Tech Degree Electrical High Voltage and Heavy Current with five (5) years job related experience
- Eligible to be registered/Registered as Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia with a Code BE drivers license
- Pre-appointment training as an added advantage: Switching & Operating of Electrical network, SCADA system training, Power system software knowledge & utilization, ripple control training, customer care training
