Swakop Uranium is recruiting a Senior Engineer: Projects (Civil/Structural), to be based in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
- To complete Engineering and construction projects, by planning, organizing, controlling all elements of the project, and executing the defined project within set time and within budget provisions
Duties
- Develop project objectives, by reviewing project proposals and plans, and conferring with management
- Interpret Company Project program requirements, and formulate and implement project plans accordingly
- Maintain project schedule, by monitoring project progress, co-coordinating activities and resolving problems
- Assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of the project, like technical studies, design/drawings, preparation of specification, technical plans, in accordance with engineering discipline of staff
- Ensure contractor compliance with all Key performance areas and SU SSHER-Q requirements
- Provide input into the section’s annual operational budget, by forecasting costs and monitor expenditure and cash flow on a regular basis
- Allocate project resources appropriately and control project costs, by approving expenditures within budget parameters and administering contractor contracts
- Maintain safe and clean productive/working environment
Requisites
- BSc/ BEng/ BTech / in Civil/ Structural Engineering
- Postgraduate Project Management Certificate will be an added advantage
- 5 years’ experience in a projects environment of which 2 years should have been in a Senior capacity
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary projects and exposure to research and development work into new / improved project
- Understand risk management processes
- Sound experience in quality management principles and processes
- Sound working relationships and should be able to work in a multi- national environment
- Excellent track record of contract & contractor management, people management and stakeholder engagement
- Registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia
- Government Certificate of Competency will be an added advantage
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License
