Namib Mills is recruiting a Storeman, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To ensure effective receiving, storage, issuing and control of all resources and packaging material for pasta products
Duties
  • Daily planning, organizing and coordinating of packaging material for production use
  • Report any irregularities and unforeseen material shortages
  • Work according to a "first in, first out" basis
  • Accurate calculations for stock on hand and receiving of material
  • Ensure all pallets in use are marked clearly, are visible and understandable to others
  • Assure easy access to products needed for production
  • Keep store organized and clean
  • Receiving of new material; assure correct documentation are received; fill out all the necessary documentation; do the necessary quality checks to ensure material received conforms
  • Transferring and receiving stock on ACCPAC
  • Stock taking at regular intervals
  • Continuously try to improve procedures to ensure efficiency and manage time optimally
  • Ensure to be personally available every last weekend of every month for stock taking
  • Ensure to be personally available to work weekends when required with prior arrangements
  • Plan ahead to assure efficiency in production
  • Execute adhoc jobs that are work related as instructed by superiors
  • Be able to do primary mathematical functions
  • Adhere to safety standards
Requisites
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Relevant Certificate (NQF 5) with 2 years relevant experience in stock control
  • OR
  • Grade 12 (NQF4) with Mathematics as a subject and 5 years relevant experience in stock control
  • Other:
  • Forklift driver’s license would be an added advantage
  • Valid code C1 Driver's License with a PDP
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Working knowledge of Windows based office systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Accpac
  • Namibian Citizenship
  • Working knowledge of the production process
  • Knowledge of ISO / HACCP / Safety Standards
  • Availability to work every last weekend of every month
  • Availability to work weekends when required with prior arrangements
