Team Leader: Agronomy Job

Duties

• The Team Leader Agronomy is responsible to manage the Agronomy department and all related activities according to company policies, procedures, and standards, implementing the approved planting programs for effective and feasible agronomy operations of all farming activities within O&L Fresh
• Responsibilities:
• Responsible for executing all planting programs as approved by the Company and directed by the Manager: Agri Business
• Responsible for effective application of the raw material input programs to achieve the agreed to and budgeted yields for each planting program
• Responsible for the overall management, safe keeping and controlling of all raw materials for the planting programs
• Identify risk areas and recommend suitable solutions to mitigate these risks
• Implement and manage soil and water maintenance, rotation, and protection to ensure long-term sustainability in accordance with the company’s long-term sustainability plan as well as planting rotation programs
• Manage the orders from the farm planting programs
• Responsible to administer and process all quotations, purchase requisitions, and invoices according to the Company’s Policies and Procedures
• Mentor and coach subordinates to reach their full potential
• Responsible to maintain sound employee relations between team members and always maintain team discipline

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy
• A minimum of five (5) years working experience
• Experience with variety of vegetables, maize, wheat, seedling house & net house will be an advantage.
• A valid driver’s licence
• Heavy vehicle license is preferred
