Old Mutual is recruiting a Trainee Broker Consultant, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Develops and implements a sales, marketing and support plan for brokers
  • Building and maintaining sustainable relationships with all contracted brokers in designated portfolio
  • Analyzing the sales product mix in order to react to trends, and ensure profitable growth of the portfolio
  • Managing the relationship between Old Mutual and brokers, and ensures maximum growth of the portfolio
  • Researching market trends and developing relevant strategies to ensure sustainable growth
  • Supporting and advising on all Old mutual product-related aspects to Brokers
  • Ensures that Old Mutual and product providers understand Broker's product and marketing needs
  • Meets all annual new business targets of the Old Mutual Broker Distribution business
  • Receiving requests for quotations from Brokers and formulates alterations to existing business
  • Marketing Old Mutual services and products to Brokers
  • Developing and sourcing new business with brokers
  • Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results
Duties
  • Business Development:
  • Monitor and assess sales and market data for a specific geographic region that will assist management in identifying areas in the market where business can be developed
  • Customer Needs Clarification:
  • Set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting; use standard materials to make a presentation to the customer; and ask relevant questions to evaluate the customer's level of interest and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation
  • Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting:
  • Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product launches and engage the potential customers in relevant sales campaigns to build new relationships
  • Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and resolve them, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer receives an appropriate response
  • Sales Opportunities Creation:
  • Identify potential customers by obtaining information, referrals, and recommendations from existing customers and other contacts and/or through participation in trade shows and conferences
  • Sell Customer Propositions:
  • Identify the products or services that best meet the customer's stated needs, use personal expertise to propose quantities and product configurations, explain the selection to the customer, and invite the customer to make a purchase at the standard price/terms and conditions of sale
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data:
  • Monitor team members' use of the CRM system, identifying and resolving standard issues and escalating them to a senior manager as appropriate.
  • Customer Relationship Management / Account Management:
  • Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product launches and engage the customers in relevant sales campaigns
  • Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and resolve them, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer receives an appropriate response
  • Operational Compliance:
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards
  • Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure
  • Personal Capability Building:
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
Requisites
  • Namibian Citizenship
  • A Valid Driver’s Licence
  • A minimum qualification of grade 12
  • A diploma or degree (NQF level 7) in marketing; sales; finance
  • The successful candidate will be required to travel
  • Excellent client care orientation and communication skills
  • Ability to listen and integrate information

  • Proven sales or third party sales record will be an advantage
