Ohorongo Cement is recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor, to be based in Tsumeb, Namibia.
Description
  • Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to maintain inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items, securing warehouse, and supervising staff
  • The incumbent will be responsible to ensure smooth plant operation by controlling and issuing of spares and consumables at Ohorongo Cement
  • Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the entire diesel management on site, including ordering, receiving, issuing and controls thereof and the management of all special tools kept at the tool store
Duties
  • Purchase, coordinate, and process requisitions from the different departments
  • Responsible to purchase within frame agreements, including repair orders
  • Verify items received and sort out all deviations with suppliers
  • Responsible for weekly stock take
  • Update and verify tool store inventory
  • Responsible to receive, check, and process all incoming goods in warehouse
  • Organize the storage of all goods and maintain reasonable, practical, and transparent storage systems for all items
  • Prevent fraud and theft in connection with the warehouse and tool store
  • Monitor all stocks on a quasi-continuous basis and perform regular stock taking as required, especially the year end stock take for audit purposes
  • Initiate re-order for items when a pre-set minimum stock has been reached
  • Organize and ensure an absolutely accurate bookkeeping w.r.t the warehouse, tools store, incoming goods, handed-out goods, and all diesel used on site
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovations or improve existing work procedures and practices
  • Responsible to manage warehouse staff
  • Any other related ad-hoc tasks
Requisites
  • Technical Diploma or a Diploma in Material Handling, Warehouse and/or Stock Management
  • Minimum five (5) years working experience in both purchasing, administration and warehouse management in an industrial operation
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong administrative knowledge and skills
  • Code BE Driver’s License
  • Experience with purchasing industrial equipment
  • Technical understanding of equipment used in industrial / manufacturing plans or mines
  • Must be computer literate
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP or similar ERP systems is a pre-requisite
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as good organizational skills
  • Ability to work extremely accurate and reliable
  • Fluency in English is a pre-requisite
  • Must be able to work independently, but also in team situations
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Willingness to learn
